Is it too much to hope that quiet and understated becomes the new norm on such occasions? It was absolutely beautiful and so angelic .. nothing more needed to be done.. Less is more and my goodness who wouldn’t choose for it to be just the way it was… intimate and tasteful with Prince Phillips wishes ribboned through the whole ceremony so touching in comparison to the usual large State affairs which as a family member must be incredibly difficult to endure in light of the circumstance and grief. People still got to see it but at arms length via the TV. Maybe all should be done like that in the future?

It was an impressive funeral. A man who backed his Queen to the end and loved his country. THe Queen stood alone as sovereign and was strong for the country. She has always done her duty to country.

Beautiful ceremony. It was so thoughtful and moving and the music throughout was outstanding. Well done. The 4-person choir was amazing. They sounded like 20 people! The music was beautiful. The only thing that surprised me was that the casket and catafalque disappeared while the bugles and state trumpets were playing. I had to do some looking into it! I guess there is a platform in the floor that goes down to the royal vault. BBC
