Disney films bring joy to my kids and there’s nothing wrong with believing in happy endings!just another perspective or interpretation…Cinderella hopes that life will get better despite of hardships…The little mermaid sacrifices her voice to get what she wants – no pain no gain.Ridiculous. Every single movie is made for kids to enjoy them and dream a little. We all grow up later on and can differentiate a movie from reality!! Absolutely ridiculousYes. My Daddy rewrote the endings of these stories to show female independence and empowerment. He was way ahead of his time, but so were my grandparents.I think it is how you frame the fairytale.Cinderella has the courage to put on a gown, glass slippers and ride in a coach conjured by magic to attend a ball she would have never been able to dream of. She STEPPED out of her comfort zone and tried something new. The Little Mermaid did the same. She DARED to be different and want legs and see what was outside of her world. I think it is all how one frames the story.Disney movies don’t raise children; parents do. If she thinks a Disney movie will give the wrong message and warp her daughter’s sense of ‘right and wrong’ or what ‘women do’ then she needs to have another look at her parenting skills.BBC
