I don’t see the harm in camping on a beach. It’s a nice way to spend an evening. Gone are the days then when i used to go camping anywhere as a kid. What wrong with camping on the beach? Why has Britain suddenly become so petty?
I have a lot of sympathy for homeless people but after myself and my neighbors had a very large encampment near us and for over two years saw our stolen property sold at the encampment, and we saw a large uptick in strong armed robberies and other violent crimes in the neighborhood in the immediately vicinity of the camp, I just can’t have sympathy any more. It eventually became clear that its us or them. Someone’s quality of life is going to be impacted either way and I’d rather preserve the quality of life of my hard working neighbors than that of the “housing challenged.”
I can’t believe I’m saying this because I’ve always been so progressive about everyone but I think its just the reality of having a large encampment near you and being victimized repeatedly.
Just wondering how enforceable it is. Can I stay on the beach? Yes, Is there any time limit I can spend there? No. Can I set small tent during the day? Yes. As long as no litter left and no ASB, it is hardly a problem and offence from legal point of view.
Thanks goodness we have right to roam and camp laws here in Scotland. If someone came and attempted to purposefully wake me every hour on the hour they’d get the sharp end of my boot right up their khyber. BBC
