A reasonable and respectable, albeit overdue, decision by the Baseball just do it Nike logo Halloween shirt team’s owners. Kudos to them for acknowledging the need for change and doing something about it.Are they going to play the same card as the Washington Football team and rename themselves “The Cleveland Baseball Team”? The NFL is the same as the BBC losing viewers at an alarming rate and unfortunately there is no way back !! We little people hate being dictated to by the woke snowflakesI don’t see how changing the name or not changing the name impacts anyone’s life.
We have a corrupt government at local, state, and federal levels…so corrupt in fact that it’s accepted and only acted upon when it becomes too blatant; failing infrastructure, and an environment that is being polluted daily. But this…THIS is the hill I’ll die onPerhaps New England Patriots should change their name in case it offends the English, or Denver Broncos in case it upsets horses, etc. It’s all rather silly and unnecessary. It should be more offensive to actual Indians…from India. But to be honest they probably don’t care so it’s ridiculous. In a recent poll involving Native American Indians the vast majority is not offended and most are honored.
The team mascot is a show of strength. Some teams on reservations actually have Indian names as mascots. The snowflakes are the ones offended. Let’s just change all the road and street names, the city and towns names that might offend someone! It’s freakin ridiculous! Next will be the Eagles, Seahawks, Cardinals and BlueJays, because it offends some bird lovers! Enough is enough! So if the name Indians is offensive to Native Americans(Which Iam). Are we safe to say that the Oakland Athletics will also be changing their name because it could be offensive to the Obese, Quadriplegics and Geeks.

Can you see the insanity in their line of thinking. Just curious, has anyone from India Being an enrolled tribal member and being a descendant of many tribal leaders on both my paternal and maternal sides I honour how an individual of like bloodlines (other tribes included) chooses to self identify. I am so used to being an American Indian I am not offend by it nor do I choose to not be referred as one. However I also acknowledge and reply to to other so called politically correct generalizations of group, societal peoples names. I repeat “self identify”. Being as this is not my FB page I will not engage in argument of my position. Thank Jon for allow me to opine. The English language is poorer than I realized when people are having trouble naming a baseball team that doesn’t offend the indigenous people that lived here originally. Can’t they be called Cleveland Asshats or something that adequately reflects people opposing this name change?BBC
